These verses were given to the people by David and Asaph as a song to constantly remind them of the value of seeking God because "our strength is found in Him," "our grace is from His loving presence," and "our hope is in seeing Him face to face and knowing Him even as we are known by Him." After restoring God's presence to His people through the Ark of the Covenant, instead of going our own way or choosing our own route, we must turn to the Lord.

Prayer

O Lord, I am aware that when you formed me in my mother's womb, you did so individually. But I also understand that until I first seek you and your power, I will never be able to experience the freedom or creativity you hope I will find in my life. Please give me the knowledge that you are close as I seek you with all my heart and make innovative use of my gifts to bring you honor. In Jesus' name, I ask. Amen.
