Devotional Reflection
Paul, the apostle, was great. He wrote about one of the most troubled churches, but he still found things to be thankful for. First, he was thankful for them because Jesus died for them. When God gives people His grace, how could we not do the same? Second, he realized that the things they did wrong were also things for which to be thankful. They may have messed up, but if they were used to honor God, these gifts could help their church. Paul's example shows us that a child of God is something to love, even if that child has problems, even if his or her words are hard to follow.
Prayer
Please, kind Father, open my heart to recognize the blessings in each of Your children. I admit that it's all too easy for me to judge other people by how they treat me, whether they hold the same beliefs as I do, or how much trouble they cause me. Please pardon me because I am aware that I would not have become one of Your children if You had treated me the same way. Please assist me in celebrating Your children. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer
Merciful Father, give me the capacity to feel gratitude for each and every one of Your children. I admit that I regularly judge individuals based on how they treat me, whether they agree with my religious beliefs, or how much trouble they cause me. Please pardon me, as I am aware that I would not have become one of Your children if You had treated me similarly. Please assist me in celebrating Your children. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
