Devotional Reflection
We've all been tempted. Satan created a silver bullet specifically for us. "No one will ever find out, and it won't damage anyone anyway," a voice similar to ours said quietly. Even if those two statements were accurate, which they nearly never are, it wouldn't matter since we succumbed to what we knew was wrong. One method to fight temptation is to recognize that we are not alone in dealing with it. Others have gone through it and triumphed, and we can too with God's help and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
Protect my life from sin and my heart from temptation, Most Holy Father. I want to devote myself completely to serving You. Please pardon me for my past transgressions, and by Your grace and the power of Your word, empower me with the power of Your Holy Spirit so that I can resist the temptations that the devil uses to keep me from You. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
TEMPTATION... All of us have been there. Satan's silver bullet designed just for us personally. "No one will ever know, and it won't hurt anyone anyway," a mysterious voice whispers in a way that sounds like our own. Even if those two things were true, which they almost never are, it wouldn't matter because something in us gave in to what we knew was wrong. One way to fight temptation is to remind ourselves that we are not the only ones facing it. Others have faced it and won, so with God's help and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can too.
Prayer
Most Holy Father, keep temptation out of my heart and sin out of my life. I want to do everything I can to help you. Forgive me for my past sins, and fill me with your Holy Spirit through your grace and your word so I can resist Satan's attempts to pull me away from you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
