Devotional Reflection

HopeGrief

How often have you stood over the grave of a friend or loved one who has just died? When was the last time you really missed someone and felt sad about being apart from them? I don't know about you, but I am so glad that the Bible says that Jesus' enemies include death. I'm glad He hates death and all the pain and separation it brings even more than I do. I am so happy to know that death will be wiped out and the children of God will be given eternal life.

Prayer

Holy Father, please prevail with life and mercy in the lives of individuals I know who are fighting emotional, spiritual, and bodily death. Triumph in their lives through your strength and your grace. I look forward to the day, my Father, when death is no more. Lord Jesus, I not only pray this in your name, but I also ask you to accelerate this day. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
