Passage Context

54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Devotional Reflection

Victory! The Biggest Win!! If you can't pass life's biggest test, which is death, you haven't won. Every year, the Super Bowl and the World Series are played. The champion is only the winner for a year. But a Christian will always be a winner because, in Jesus, he or she has won over death.

Prayer

God, I appreciate You giving me victory through Jesus Christ. Make His will triumphantly present in me right now, as it will be when He raises me from the dead and returns me to You. As I battle sin every day, in Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

Prayer

Thank you, God, for the victory that Jesus Christ has given me. Please make His will triumphant in me now, just as it will be when He raises me from the dead and brings me home to You, even though I still struggle with sin every day. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
