King James Version
What does 1 John 3:11 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
The first message was to love each other. The message that will last is to love each other. The most powerful message is to love each other. The hardest message is to love each other. I think of the short verse, "To live in heaven with the saints we love, that will be glory." But to live down here with the saints we know is a different story. But that's the story our lives are meant to tell. This is the message that God wants His children to always remember. Let's get out there and do it!
Prayer
Dear Father, I promise to intentionally demonstrate my love for Your children in all that I say and do. I do this in the belief that Your grace will enable me to accomplish more than I could on my own. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
The primary message was to show one another love. The enduring lesson is to show one another love. Loving one another is the strongest message. The most challenging lesson is to love one another. The little line that reads, "To live above with saints we revere, O that would be glory," comes to mind. To live among the saints, though, is another matter entirely. But that's the story that our lives are designed to tell! This is the everlasting message that God desires to be transmitted to His progeny. Let's go live it together!
Prayer
Loving Father, I promise You that I will do and say things that show how much I care about Your children. I do this because I believe that Your grace will help me do more than I would be able to do on my own. I pray through Jesus, who saved me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
