Devotional Reflection
He first loved us. He gave us His Son to save us, whether we choose to accept His grace or not. We have the choice of accepting or rejecting the sacrifice of His Son's death for our sins. As 1 John 2:1-2 points out, we must also realize that He died for everyone else in the world.
Prayer
I'll never fully comprehend why You love me and sent Jesus to die for me, dear King, God Almighty. I appreciate Your love. I'm grateful that You paid the price for my sins. I'm grateful that Jesus came to save me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Love is shown, not just talked about. Love doesn't wait until things are easy or safe before it shares itself. Love saves when it seems like all hope is gone. Love is not only something that God is, but also something that He does and gives.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for loving me. Please help me see the chances you give me every day to love the people you put in my path. Use me to show someone your love today and every day after that. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God first loved us. God paid the huge price for our atonement first! Jesus is the best way for God to show how kind and fair He is. He showed us what love is, so we know what it is. How well do we show others that God is both merciful and fair?
Prayer
Father, it seems like Your love is so big, so kind, and so powerful. I ask that You, O blessed Holy Spirit, would help change my heart to more perfectly reflect and glorify the Father. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
He loved us first! He offered His Son to rescue us regardless of whether we choose to believe or deny His kindness. We are given the opportunity to embrace or reject the death of His Son as the sacrifice for our sins. The sole condition, as 1 John 2:1-2 underlines, is that we know that Christ died for everyone else in the world, too!
Prayer
Precious King, Almighty God, I will never fully understand why You love me and sent Jesus to die for me. I appreciate Your love. Thank You for giving up Your life for me. I'm glad Jesus came to save me. I say my prayers in Your name and with Your help. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
