Devotional Reflection
Love means taking action. This is repeated throughout the Bible. Love must be expressed both verbally and physically. The source of love is God. He sacrificed everything for us in order for us to understand how much He loves and cares for us. Heaven had to give up its most precious possession—God the Son, our Savior—in order for us to be adopted.
Prayer
Father, I appreciate You accepting me into Your family. I will never be able to express my gratitude to You enough or repay You for Your kindness, but please accept the service of my life as both my ongoing act of gratitude for Your kindness and my feeble attempt to return some of the love You have shown me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Sharing life with someone else is a sign of affection. Jesus best exemplifies this idea more than anybody else! But it was because of His death that we were rescued and given new life in Christ. Now, God wants us to teach people about His love for them in a manner that they can comprehend and enjoy.
Prayer
Thank you for today, Holy LORD, my Heavenly Father. Help me share my life with someone who needs to know how gracious You are. Please help me see those who are hurting and give me the knowledge I need to bring them back to You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Love is an activity. The Bible reinforces this point again and again. Love must not only be expressed; it must also be exhibited. The beginning of love is God. He displayed His love in the most sacrificial of ways so we could recognize our enormous importance to Him. The price of our adoption was the emptying of heaven of its greatest treasure, God the Son, who is our Savior.
Prayer
Thank you, Father, for taking me into Your family. I will never be able to thank You enough or repay You for Your kindness, but please accept the service of my life as my ongoing thanks for Your grace and my small way of trying to share the love You have given me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
