1 Samuel 16:7 Β· KJV
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
King James Version
What does 1 Samuel 16:7 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Have you ever thought about how many good friends you might have missed out on because of how you first saw them? I can't believe that the first thing we think about someone tells us very much about them. We won't really know how to judge people until the Lord shows us what's really in their hearts at the judgment. Don't you think we should let them show us what's in their hearts before we decide what to do with them? Let's not just look at what's on the surface!
Prayer
Only you, Father, know each heart. Please encourage me to wait before forming opinions about people. Give me the ability to see things as Jesus does. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
