¹Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

³For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Devotional Reflection

The word "sanctified" sounds very "churchy," doesn't it? It means to be different from other people and set aside for God's use and glory. We are to be a different kind of people! This is especially true when it comes to staying away from sexual sin. We should stay away from it and honor God with our bodies (cf. 1 Corinthians 6:18–20) while celebrating God's plan for happy sexual fulfillment in marriage (Proverbs 5; 1 Corinthians 7:1-7).

Prayer

Father God, please keep me safe and give me the strength I need to resist sexual temptation in my culture, which is full of it. I want to give myself to You as a holy sacrifice that makes You happy and helps Your people. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
