Passage Context

18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Devotional Reflection

LoveGratitudeHopeAwe

Costs have been paid. The ransom has been paid. God's punishment was stopped not because of anything we did to make Him happy, but because God Himself sacrificed Jesus on the cross to pay for our sins. If God has gone to so much trouble to bring us back to Himself and make us part of His family, how can we say no? We shouldn't! Father God, here are our hearts to You!

Prayer

I am aware that my sin has grieved you and offended your holiness, O Merciful God. Therefore, words are inadequate to express how grateful I am to you. My sin caused you pain, but you still made a sacrifice to atone for it and bring me back into your good graces. I thank you for your love, I thank you for your grace, and I pledge to extend your mercy to others. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer

God, I know that my sin has hurt Your heart and Your holy nature. So, I can't tell You how thankful I am through words. Even though my sin hurt You, You made a sacrifice to save me from it and bring us back together. I thank You for Your love and grace, and I promise to show mercy to others. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
