³We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

⁴So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

⁵Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

Devotional Reflection

Lord, make my faith stronger. Give me more power. Give me more knowledge. We pray for these things often, but when did you last thank God for making your love grow? Can you think of a more exciting thing to say about your church than, "Your love for each other is getting stronger"? Let's pray and work for it!

Prayer

Holy God, fill me with Your love so that I can truly share it with everyone I come in contact with every day. May this love expand and deepen so that others may perceive its advantages and understand that it is a direct result of the extravagant love You have shown me. Help my love grow by the power of Your Spirit! In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

When was the last time you met a new Christian brother or sister and told them all the things you liked about them? Don't you think it's been too long? Shouldn't you tell them today? Let's give God more thanks for those who are in Christ and do more to encourage and affirm them.

God, thank you for the new Christians who have joined our church and my life. Bless them and keep them safe from the Evil One, and use us, your children and their brothers and sisters, to help and encourage them on their way to becoming perfect in Christ.
