Passage Context

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Devotional Reflection

LoveGratitudeHopeAwe

Before the creation of the world, how did you discover when that occurred? God first considered us at a time that is beyond our capacity to comprehend. To demonstrate His generosity and to persuade others to join Him, He thought of us. Jesus has always been the center of God's purpose, and we are always His primary focus. Let's live holy lives to show Him that we care.

Prayer

Father, thank you so much for knowing me and considering my needs even before the world existed. I strive to live a life that emulates your righteousness and grace, and I dedicate this day and the days to come to your honor. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Before the world was made! How do you know when that happened? God first thought of us at a time we can't even begin to understand. He thought of us to show how kind He is and to invite others to join Him. God's plan has always been Jesus, and His goal has always been us. Let's show Him we care by living holy lives.

Prayer

Father, thank you so much for knowing me and thinking about what I needed even before the world was made. I want to honor you today and in the days to come by trying to live in a way that shows your goodness and grace. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
