Devotional Reflection
I'm so pleased Paul has faith in the face of death. He is nearly alone and concerned about what will happen to the Church, but he is certain of two things: he has faithfully served the Lord, and the Lord will care for him when he dies. Shouldn't these be the primary goals we strive for in life? So, if they are our objectives, how do we live each day to achieve them?
Prayer
Because you are dependable and loving, God, you have rescued me so much through your grace. Please use all that grace to give me strength. Sometimes I am weak, and I don't always follow your commands. I am aware of your great grace, but I don't want to abuse it. Please grant me the stamina and bravery to serve you faithfully and fervently until the day I see you in person and am able to participate in your glory and triumph. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
