Devotional Reflection
These two names of Jesus are more than just words. They are the foundation on which we can build our new lives in God's Kingdom. Jesus is the King! He rules us and is our King. He is our Leader and Instructor. Our hearts are open to Him and willing to do what He says. Jesus is the only one who has a place in our hearts and lives. Jesus is the Son of God. He is the Messiah, whom the Old Testament said would come to save the people. He is the one the prophets talked about. Jesus is God's gift to bring us home. He is the King and the Savior, the Master and the Messiah. Jesus is the one who died on the cross so that we could be forgiven, redeemed, and saved. The One who was killed is both the Lord and the Christ.
Prayer
We thank You for Your kind and selfless love as we exalt Your mighty Name, Lord. We thank You, Heavenly Father, for sending Your Son Jesus to die in our place for our transgressions and rise again to give us life and salvation. Help me, Sovereign God, to give my heart to Jesus, my Lord, and to raise my voice in adoration of the Christ who purchased my salvation. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
