Devotional Reflection
I'm not sure what we have to fear when we surrender our hearts and lives to God. God will not only embrace us, but He will also rescue and transform us. However, we often find it difficult to modify our beliefs. We get entrenched in harmful behaviors that prevent us from changing. We are duped by Satan's lies. We stifle the Spirit's work in us by thinking negatively about ourselves. So why not confess our faults and offer God our whole lives? We'll discover something truly great if we look!
Prayer
Father, you are holy and good; I don't understand why it's so difficult for me to give up some of my "pet" sins. I have conflicting emotions about wanting to get beyond these issues and not wanting to. To fully devote myself to you, I need your assistance. I make a heartfelt commitment to you to dedicate my whole life, so if you would please send your reviving, purifying, and healing power to me through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
How long has it been since you last found yourself drifting away from a passionate walk with the Lord? There are times when we feel refreshed as we live for God and with God in our everyday lives. According to Jesus, if we follow Him and obey what He says, He will show Himself to us (cf. John 14:15-21). He will remain in us until He returns for us, and we will have the greatest refreshment of all: being reunited with Him forever.
Prayer
Abba, Father, I'm giving my whole life to You today. I'm sorry if I've done anything wrong. Please forgive me. Please help me feel more refreshed today by making me more aware of Jesus' lordship and presence in my life. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
