Acts 4:12 Β· KJV

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

King James Version

What does Acts 4:12 mean? β†’

Passage Context

10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Devotional Reflection

There's something special about Jesus' name! The lyrics in the song are accurate. Nobody else is able to protect us from the flawed and broken aspects of our world. Because He entered this world, assumed our flaws, shame, and sin, and triumphed over them, He is our Savior.

Prayer

I thank and praise you, God Most High, in the holy name of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, my Lord. Your power has given me the assurance that I will rise from the dead, and your love has provided the sacrifice for my sin. Because of Your Son's willingness to live a lifetime among us, I have a Great High Priest who prays for me and understands my plight. His example demonstrates Your great love for me. Oh God, thank you! I appreciate Your kindness in providing me with such a wonderful Savior. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

There have been many false Messiahs, but only the True Messiah can save. Even though we often live for many "lords," there is only one "Lord" who can free us from sin and death. People say there are many ways to get closer to God, but Jesus says He is the only way. So, in the end, we have to decide if we believe that Jesus is the only way to be saved or not. It's up to us. But what we choose to do about Jesus really affects everything. Is Jesus your Lord? Is Jesus the most important name to you? Does Jesus save you? If not, please think again, because the Bible says, "No one else can save you.

Prayer

Almighty God, I appreciate You choosing to extend Your grace to me through Jesus. May I never misuse the holy name of Jesus. May Jesus take over as Lord in my life and in my heart. May my actions reflect how I want Jesus to be seen. May Jesus be aware that I have no one to whom I owe my allegiance but Him. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

There's something about the name Jesus!" The song has the right words. No one else can save us from the wrong and broken things in our world. He is our Savior because He came to this world, took on our weaknesses, shame, and sin, and then triumphed over them.

Prayer

I thank and praise you, God Most High, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, my Lord. Your love has paid for my sin with a sacrifice, and your power has shown me that I will rise from the dead. Your Son's willingness to stay with us for a lifetime has given me a Great High Priest who understands my struggles and prays for me. Because of what He did, I can see how much You love me. God, thank you! Thank you for being so kind and giving me a Savior who is so great. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
