Devotional Reflection
Jesus' death on the cross at Golgotha, which paid for our sins, was not an afterthought, a mistake, or a tweaked plan. Jesus came as God's chosen one, His holy Messiah, to die for everyone's sins and give us life and eternal life. Those who were evil and tried to kill Him to maintain their place and power were just doing what God knew they would do. He took what a few wicked people intended and turned it into a way for everyone to be saved.
Prayer
Almighty God and loving Father, thank you for your great sacrifice, which gives you the justice you want and allows you to extend your rich mercy and grace. Thank you, Jesus, in whose name I pray, for your loving sacrifice, your holy example, and your promise to return for me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
