What does Acts 8:4 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
When someone tries to put out a fire in dry broomweed by stomping on it, the sparks fly up into the air and are carried by the wind, making the fire spread far and wide. Satan tried to discourage the early church by making Christians suffer. However, God used the martyrdom and suffering that forced Christians to leave their homes to spread the message everywhere they went. Each believer was like a spark that was blown by the divine wind of God's Spirit.
Prayer
Give me a holy drive to spread Your love and power to everyone I encounter, regardless of how they came to know me, O great God of compassion and grace. Give me the discernment to recognize and the fortitude to seize the chances to introduce Jesus to the people in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
