King James Version

What does Colossians 2:10 mean? β†’

Passage Context

8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Devotional Reflection

If you had known Jesus' address in Nazareth around the year 20 A.D., you could have gone there and said, "This is where God lives!" Even though it's hard to fully understand, grace is based on the fact that Jesus was both fully God and fully man. He was fully God, but He gave up all of His divine privileges (Phil. 2:5-7). Because we couldn't be like Him, God chose to be like us. We couldn't get up to God, so He came down to us. God's fullness came to us in Jesus so that we could be complete in Him.

Prayer

I acknowledge that You, Almighty God, are too great for me to understand. You are greater than my mind can comprehend, despite how wonderful, mighty, and majestic You are. And I'm in awe of Your grace, O God. I'm grateful that You sent Jesus so I could know You. I'm grateful that You sent Jesus to make atonement for me. I'm grateful that You sent Jesus so that I could return to You and live forever. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me and then going back to the Father so that I could communicate with Him through You. I boldly pray to our Father in Your name, Jesus, and because of Your grace. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
