Passage Context

11Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Devotional Reflection

GratitudeCompassionShame

How can I not forgive a brother or sister for whom Christ died, knowing what God paid to forgive me?

Prayer

Father, I make a commitment today to let go of any resentment or bitterness I may have toward any of Your children. I apologize for not repaying the kindness and mercy You have shown me. Abba Father, I need Your Holy Spirit's assistance to give up my right to compensation for wrongs done to me and to accept the people who have harmed me as full members of Your family. Please give me the strength I need to follow Your example of forgiveness, even when it is difficult. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
