King James Version

Devotional Reflection
Peace is that hard-to-find state of grace that includes all the good things in life. Because of Jesus, we have real shalom, which means that we are healthy in body, soul, and spirit. Because of how He treated other people and how He defeated sin, death, and the grave, we can also have peace. So, when we let the Spirit of Christ into our hearts, we can live in peace with our brothers and sisters, no matter how much they mess up. Also, Paul says that we are the Body of Christ, and it makes sense that a body doesn't want to be at war with itself. So, live in peace with others and be thankful for it.
Prayer
Please grant me a heart to love your people, O blessed Father of all believers. I am confident that as the character of Jesus permeates my life, I will come to recognize the value of each of your children and see the challenging relatives as the grit from which you will fashion my pearl. I ask for your patience as I work on having a heart that truly loves all of your children. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer
Blessed Father of all believers, please give me a heart to love Your people. I know that as the character of Jesus becomes more and more a part of my life, I will value each of Your children more and see my difficult family members as the grit that You will use to make my pearl. I pray that You'll give me grace until I can love all of Your children with all of my heart. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
