Devotional Reflection

JoyPeaceGratitudeHope

Today, my world is beautiful. The weather is great, and my church is wonderful. I have everything I truly need. This will change, though. Life is tied to death, and love is tied to people who aren't perfect. Separation by distance, disagreement, and death are all things that are bound to happen. But one of the best things about being a Christian is that my true and lasting life is hidden with Christ in God. In other words, even if things are going well in my life at the moment, they will always be susceptible to being affected by mortality. In the coming of Christ, they will be gloriously perfect and untarnished by evil, death, or decay. I am delighted to hear this news!

Prayer

Thank you very much for saving me from sin, Holy and Righteous God, through Your tremendous and unmerited mercy. I am grateful for Jesus, whose resurrection ensures that I shall spend all of eternity with You and that, at the end of time, I will be reunited with everyone else who is a member of Your family. Please accept my thanks and praise until the day I can do it in person. Thank You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
