Passage Context

13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
15The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

17And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

Devotional Reflection

Jesus is like Moses in that He is a prophet. He has come and told us the truth about God. His words, which are written down in the Gospels, have taught us. Through the things He has done, He has shown us how to live. He teaches us by being with us all the time and by giving us the Holy Spirit. But we learn the most from what He tells us when we do what He says.

Prayer

I believe that El Shaddai, who descended upon Mount Sinai and gave Moses Your Law, is still speaking to us today through Jesus. Help me to pay attention to His message and way of life today, as well as to His voice, in order to put it into practice. Please gently correct me and guide me toward obedience so that I may more fully exalt You through the worship of my day-to-day activities. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

I believe that You, El Shaddai, who thundered from Mount Sinai and gave Your Law to Your servant Moses, are still speaking through Jesus today. Help me not only to hear His voice, but also to listen to what He has to say and to watch how He lived. Correct me gently and show me the way of obedience so that I can worship You better every day and bring more glory to You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
