Devotional Reflection
What is one of the best things we can do for the Christians we love? We can ask God to help them. But we can also pray that God will give them power through His Spirit who lives inside them. The same Holy Spirit brought Jesus back to life (Eph. 1:19). God's great gift to those who ask for the Holy Spirit is this same Spirit (Luke 11:13). The same Holy Spirit brought life back to a valley full of dead bodies (Ezekiel 37). And if we ask, this same Holy Spirit will help those we love to grow stronger in the Lord.
Prayer
My brothers and sisters in Christ need Your grace, mercy, and strength to be poured into their lives by the power of Your Spirit, mighty and awesome God. Certain people require conviction of their sinfulness. For their arduous journey ahead, some people require fortitude and bravery. Some people require strength to get rid of their personal sin problems. Please, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, strengthen them from the inside out. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
What's the best way to bless the people we care about in Christ Jesus? What is the best thing we can do to help when a Christian brother or sister, or even a whole group of God's people, is facing a big problem from the Evil One? What is one of the best things we can do to help our kids or parents live for Jesus right now? Just now, the apostle Paul showed us. We can ask God to give the Holy Spirit's presence and power to His people so they can be stronger. Then we can let them know that we have prayed this for them and will continue to do so until their storm is over.
Prayer
Kind God and All-Powerful Father, please send Your power and presence through the Holy Spirit to bless (name several specific people as you pray). I will keep doing everything I can to encourage and strengthen them, but I believe they need the power of Your Spirit much more than anything I could do. I'm glad You hear my prayer. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
