Passage Context

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Ephesians and Colossians make it clear that no person or group of people is in charge of the Church. The Church is led by Jesus. He sets our direction. He shows us what to do. He is the reason we do ministry. Jesus also puts us in His Body in the way He wants, gives us gifts to use to bless each other and God, and keeps us together so we can be His presence in the world. So let's focus on Jesus. Let's let His life and love teach us how to love and serve. Let's stand by Him and be true to Him. He is the only one in charge of His Body, the Church. Let's let Him lead!

Prayer

Thank you, Righteous Father, for giving us Jesus. Thank you for the way He served, listened, loved, and gave up Himself. Thank you for His resurrection, exaltation, power, and presence in Your Church and in my life today. Father, please use me and my fellow Christians to do His work in the world and share Your grace with everyone who is lost. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
