Passage Context

10And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
11But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
12Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
14Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

Refreshed! That's difficult most of the time, but August is particularly difficult, isn't it? It is either the midst of summer or the middle of winter, depending on which side of the equator you are on. In any situation, we must remember that God desires for us to be refreshed by His presence, grace, and rest, and that He desires for us to assist others in experiencing the same.

Prayer

God, pardon me for being so busy that I don't intentionally take time to pause and enjoy Your rest. Father, gently show me that I need this weekly break in Your company and with my family in order to be all You want me to be and everything I am capable of becoming. God, please restore my spirit and make me joyful. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
