Passage Context

21But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

Devotional Reflection

JoyGratitudeHopeAwe

Have you ever considered what might occur if all of God's followers from every nation prayed for God to reveal His holiness to the world and then all of them repented?

Prayer

I'm very sorry, powerful and holy God, that my misdeeds have caused my friends to think poorly of You because of me. I apologize for the faults of my nation and the way we have neglected You. Please pardon us and powerfully reveal Yourself to us in all Your holiness.

LoveGratitudeHopeAweContentment

Even though we are not good enough for God to use, He can and will use us anyway. Scripture shows us many times when God used people who did not meet His moral and holy standards. For example, think about Samson or most of the other judges. God will be seen for who He really is: holy, powerful, and awesome. So let's not give Him things He doesn't want. Instead, let's give ourselves to Him to serve Him and bring Him honor.

Prayer

Holy Father, make me pure and holy in everything I do, say, and think, not just by Your grace, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Give me a clean heart and a new spirit of righteousness. May my whole life be an offering of praise to You, God. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
