There are many different ways from various religious groups to determine if you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus' response is straightforward: "You will recognize them by their fruits." According to Paul, the qualities of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are examples of holy fruit. Why not pray to God for all of this fruit and say them out loud now?

Prayer

I pray to God the Father through the Holy Spirit. Please help me develop the character You have. I want to embody the characteristics of Your Son, Jesus. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

People's personalities change, and spiritual fruit can be seen where the Holy Spirit lives. Surely, you don't grow up like this overnight! But it is noticeable over a long period of time. What good things does the Spirit do in your life? How have you grown as a person? What parts of your life do you want the Spirit to have more control over? Why not take a moment while you pray and consciously give Him the parts of your life where you are having trouble?

Prayer

Father, you are all-powerful and always there. Thank you for giving me the power to make good changes in my life as I try to be more like Jesus. Please help the fruit that the Holy Spirit is growing in my life to reach full maturity. You know very well that I still have a hard time with my life. I give that part of my life to your Spirit on purpose so that it can heal and make me holy. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

When the Holy Spirit lives in us, God's character comes to life in us. The Spirit changes us more and more until we look like Christ (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). This change happens when we put our attention on Jesus and try to get to know Him. As people who follow Jesus, this change is the point of our lives (Colossians 1:28-29; Luke 6:40). As we become more and more like Jesus, we show His character, which is made up of these nine qualities.

Prayer

Thank you, dear Father, for giving me Your Spirit. I give my will and heart over to the transforming power of Your Spirit in my life. Please make me bear fruit that pleases and glorifies You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Paul tells us that holy fruit includes things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Now, why not say them out loud and ask God to give you all of this fruit?

Prayer

Abba, Father, I call on You through the Spirit. Please show me the kind of person You are. I want to have the same qualities as Your Son, Jesus. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
