Devotional Reflection
It's one thing to talk about being filled with the Spirit, but it's a whole other thing to let the Spirit run our lives and tell us what to do. Paul is telling us that we need to do more than just talk about what we believe. The Holy Spirit must help us make decisions, decide what is right and wrong, and control what we say. His fruit must be seen: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, loyalty, and self-control. Paul tells Christians who have the Holy Spirit, "Act like it!

Holy God, thank you for giving me life through your Spirit. May your Spirit lead my thoughts and shape me so that my words and actions are like Jesus'. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
