Devotional Reflection
This is what God says about the snake that led Eve and Adam to sin. Satan is the one who controls the snake. God's promise for a better future is hidden in this curse and in the fact that the woman's offspring will have to fight Satan. Jesus is the way to that future! At first glance, Satan seems to win the battle at the Cross, but after three days, everything changes. Jesus' victory over death leaves Satan with only a "bruised heel," and he can no longer use death as the final word. The Evil One's best plans and most powerful forces are shattered at the entrance to Jesus' empty tomb.
Prayer
Thank you, dear Father, for making death less scary and giving me hope for the future. I don't just believe that Jesus rose from the dead; I also believe that You will bring me back to life and give me eternal life in Your presence. For this victory that will last, in Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
