¹God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

²Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

³Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁴Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

⁵For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Devotional Reflection

Jesus was God here on earth. He wasn't a copy, a copycat, or a clone. He was God with us. Even now, He keeps everything going with His words. So much for "Mother Nature." But now that our sins have been paid for, God-with-us is also God-for-us at the side of the Father.

Prayer

Dear Lord, you take these lowly human words and present them to the Father as my friend and brother, as you have done so many times before. I'm grateful that you paid the price for my sins. We are grateful for your enduring influence in our universe. We are grateful for your daily prayers. I'm grateful to the Father for having you there as God for me. Be glory, honor, and adoration to the glorious, majestic, and holy God, who sent Jesus as the Savior, forever and ever. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

People talk about Mother Nature, but did you know that the Bible says that Jesus is the one who keeps the universe in order? His powerful words keep our world going. He not only saved us by giving His life for us, but also keeps us alive by what He says. He keeps us spiritually alive by what He says, and He keeps the world going by His power and grace.

Prayer

Almighty God, please be with me as I promise to live for You based on what Jesus said. Help me figure out how to understand and use it. More than that, please, dear Father, help me learn about You through His words. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
