Devotional Reflection
God hates anything that is wrong, unfair, cruel, or abusive. In a world where people who are greedy, murder, steal, rape, or mug others and get away with it, God is the ultimate guarantee that justice will be done and the bad guys will not win. Those who love and serve Jesus look forward to His return with joy, but those who are bad and evil will learn what a terrible thing it is to end up in God's hands.
Prayer
My Heavenly Father, I feel both disturbed and reassured. I know that You will exact retribution on those who have brutally abused vulnerable, defenseless, handicapped, or mentally ill people. It makes me hurt to see someone lost. It makes me much more angry when malicious individuals harm decent, honorable, and morally upright people. Please give me the courage to stand between them and the victims of evil in my world because of Your benevolence and achievements in overcoming sin and death. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer
Holy and Righteous God, my Heavenly Father, I am both uneasy and relieved to know that You will bring punishment on those who have cruelly assaulted the innocent, weak, defenseless, disadvantaged, and infirm. I hate to see someone lose. I dislike much more when bad individuals damage others who are decent, loving, and divine. Give me the fortitude to stand between the evil of my world and those on whom it preys. Because of His grace and triumph over sin and death, I pray in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
