Devotional Reflection

LoveJoyGratitudeHope

I love how you describe God's people before you say "the faith Hall of Fame" (Hebrews 11). When you look at God's people through the years, you don't see a bunch of weaklings, whiners, and cowards. They do have bad times, that's true. But overall, they are not the people who gave up on their quest. They are the people whose faith has stood the test of time and found salvation through God's great victory. This verse makes me happy because the Holy Spirit doesn't say, "We can be those who don't back down." Instead, He says that He has faith in us, our patience, and our loyalty. We're not "shrinkers," we're believers!

Prayer

Mighty God, I appreciate Your trust in me. I won't be a "shrinker" with Your assistance. Even if those around me do not support You, I will stand up for Your truth, Your integrity, and Your will. I refuse to back down because I know that You have great things in store for Your people. Please fill me with Your Spirit so that I can more fully, sincerely, and confidently serve You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
