Devotional Reflection
He goes where he drives! She was telling the truth when she said that about her husband in a furious manner. He always swung the steering wheel in the direction he was scanning. Each of us and our lives must abide by this rule: He or she "lives where they look!" For this reason, we must fix our gaze on Jesus. Our lives will take the direction in which we look. Make sure Jesus is in your line of sight.
Prayer
Without Your grace and the gift of Your salvation, Almighty and Holy God, I could not come to You with assurance. I appreciate You sending Jesus! We are grateful for His birth, death, resurrection, exaltation, and intercession. I promise to keep my eyes on Him starting today! In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Who inspires you? I want to know who you actively appreciate, not just what the Sunday school class might say. Because Jesus is not physically here where we can see Him like previous heroes, it is difficult to "focus our eyes on Jesus." But He was the consummate explorer and pioneer. He accepted the terrible punishment and disgrace of the crucifixion in order to atone for our sin! He did it so that we may have a hero who was immune to the effects of death and sin. He did it so that if we follow in His footsteps, we may be sure that the path He blazed was not just for Him but also for us.
Prayer
Please pardon me when I pursue falsehoods and lose sight of Jesus as my greatest hero. In order for people to experience the assurance that comes from having Jesus as their Lord, I want to respect and serve Him by allowing His life to come alive in me. I can't begin to say how grateful I am to my Lord for His suffering and the exorbitant price He paid to atone for my sins. The joy I feel at His ground-breaking success, which guarantees that I shall one day be with Him forever, is also beyond words! In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
He drives where he looks!" When an angry wife said that about her husband, she was telling the truth. He always turned the wheel in the direction in which he was looking. This rule applies to each of us and our lives as well: "He or she lives where he or she looks!" This is why we need to keep our eyes on Jesus. Where we look is where our lives will go. Let's make sure we're looking at Jesus.
Prayer
Almighty and holy God, I couldn't come to You with confidence without Your grace and the gift of Your salvation. We are grateful that You sent Jesus. Thank You for His life, His death, His resurrection, His being raised up to heaven, and His prayers on our behalf. I promise to keep my eyes on Him from now on. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
