Devotional Reflection
Do you find it easy to substitute religious rituals for helping people in need? I know I do! But God doesn't want us to get so caught up in talking about Him and praising His actions that we forget we're supposed to care for others like He does. Whether Jesus is talking about His ministry in Luke 4:18-19 or James is talking about the kind of religion that makes God happy in James 1:26-27, we must remember that true faith means treating others the way God would. Today's verse tells us what God does and how we should act ourselves.
Prayer
O Great Comforter, help me to see those who need Your love today and give me the awareness, patience, and compassion I need to help them. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
