Isaiah 26:3 Β· KJV

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

King James Version

What does Isaiah 26:3 mean? β†’

Passage Context

1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
5For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

Devotional Reflection

On the one hand, it's naive to think that trusting in God makes all of our problems go away. Christians have many of the same problems as people who don't believe in God because they share the same mortal flesh. On the other hand, it's true. If we have faith in God, we believe that the success or failure of our work is in His hands and that, in the end, we will be a part of His triumphant and glorious presence. It means we won't have lived for nothing. That's not just confidence; it's the foundation of real peace: living life to the fullest and richest, knowing that every moment matters and that we don't need to worry about its results when we put our lives in the hands of the Lord.

Prayer

Thank you, Almighty Father of Peace, for letting me know that my life won't be wasted. I hope to spread that tranquility to others today. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
