Passage Context

2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
5For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
6The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

Devotional Reflection

When we see mountains, we feel small. Not only are mountains much bigger than we are, but they have also been here much longer than we have. But the Lord was there long before any mountain was, and He will be there long after it's gone. He is the only One who keeps things steady and safe. We can find everything we need in Him.

Prayer

I believe that You are and always will be my God, my Redeemer, my Savior, my Shepherd, and my Father, Eternal I Am, who is and has always been and always will be. I pledge to You all of my tomorrows. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
