Devotional Reflection
God tells His people that they are valuable to Him in the context of this scripture. He created and redeemed them. He has no intention of abandoning them. He will be with them to deliver them and bring them to safety and triumph, no matter what trials or difficulties they confront. We may embrace this same promise, and we also have history to illustrate God's faithfulness. We can see how God preserved His people and redeemed them from their enemies' bonds time and again. God will not abandon His children! We have a promise. History has taught us this. We have trust in it!
Prayer
Thank you, Almighty God, for always being near. I know that there are many instances when I am not conscious of Your nearness, of Your providence at work, or of Your amazing workings in history. Nevertheless, I do believe, dear Father, that You are present even when I feel alone and Your presence appears so far away. In those times, my God, please give me courage and persistence to stand through the times of difficulty so that I might also join in Your times of victory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
