Passage Context

6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

Devotional Reflection

GratitudeHopeCompassionAwe

The purpose of our life on earth is not solely to worship in a church. Church worship and individual praise are significant, but they are not the main objectives. We are here to give God thanks through our words, our deeds, our emotions, and our hands. God wants us to hear His call to us in church and in our personal worship and respond, "With Satan's traps all around us, I am here. Use me!" He then wants us to go and utilize our "public worship" of service to change the world.

Prayer

I appreciate you, dear God, for providing me with the life experiences I have. You are both my pillar and my haven. I'm grateful for the abilities you bestowed upon me when you created me in my mother's womb. Your Spirit created me and bestowed talents upon me when I became your child. Now, my Father, help me understand how and where to utilize these talents in your Kingdom and to bless people all over the globe so that I might assist in bringing people to you, assist in edifying the Body of Christ, and bless your people. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
