Devotional Reflection
Put the brakes on your tongue and open up your ears. Give your angry email three days to cool down before you reply, and make sure you read it and fix any mistakes before you send it. Don't say anything and pay attention. All of these have the same message. If we did this, wouldn't the Christian community be so much better off?
Prayer
God, you are amazing and beyond my comprehension. You are mighty and holy. I don't understand how you put up with all the nonsense, pointless, and hurtful speech that your other children and I spout. I beg you to allow the Holy Spirit to pierce my heart and keep my mouth shut against any unkind words. My desire is for my voice to be as much yours as it is mine. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Put the brakes on your tongue and the accelerator on your ears. Allow three days for your furious email to settle before answering, and make sure you read and amend it before sending it. Maintain a closed mouth and open ears. They all say exactly the same thing. Wouldn't the Christian community be so much better off if we just did it?
Prayer
God, you are so amazing that I can't even begin to understand you. I don't know how you can put up with all the nonsense, stupid, and hurtful things that I and your other children say. I'm asking you to let the Holy Spirit convict my heart and keep my mouth from saying anything hurtful. I want you to own my voice as much as you own my heart. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
