Devotional Reflection
What we know and what we believe doesn't matter much if it doesn't change the way we act every day. Faith that isn't lived out in everyday life isn't faith; it's just a show. James says the same thing that Jesus did when He told us to put into practice what we had learned from Him. Once we know the truth of God's Word, there is only one thing left to do: put it into practice!
Prayer
Holy God, assist me in carrying out what I know to be Your will and Your truth today.
Tasting is the evidence of the pudding." The living provide witness to biblical wisdom and insight. Simply knowing the truth isn't enough; living the truth is everything. (cf. Matthew 7)
Prayer
O LORD God, strengthen me with Your Spirit as I endeavor to not only "practice what I preach," but also display my obedience to Your will and live consistently with Your character in my everyday life. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
