What does James 3:17 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Now I understand why it's so hard to find good people: there aren't many sowers. Wisdom from heaven involves making sacrifices on earth. That's a strong reminder to me that wisdom isn't about how much you know, but how much you plant.
Prayer
Thank you for Jesus' example of righteousness, peacemaking, thoughtfulness, humility, forgiveness, pleasant fruit, fairness, and truthfulness, Holy and Wise Father. I hope for the strength and bravery to demonstrate these attributes this week in order to live like Christ. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Now I see why holiness is so difficult to find: there aren't many sowers! Heavenly knowledge is full of worldly sacrifice. That serves as a tremendous reminder to me that knowledge is measured not by what you know but by what you sow.
Prayer
Holy and wise Father, thank you for showing purity, making peace, consideration, submission, mercy, good fruit, fairness, sincerity, and impartiality in Jesus. I ask for the strength and bravery to show these things this week as I try to live like Jesus. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
