Jeremiah 6:16 Β· KJV

What does Jeremiah 6:16 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Temptation is a decision between the old road (God's will for us) and a new path supplied by Satan. So frequently, Satan's way is given to us as a shortcut to pleasure, riches, and accomplishment. However, this route pulls us away from God and the gifts He longs to offer us. Let's not be like the people of God in Jeremiah's day who spurned God's path and stated, "We will not walk in it." The result of their choice was their own ruin.
Prayer
Dear Father, All-Powerful God, please forgive me for leaving Your path to look for a way that seems easier and faster to achieve happiness. Help me see through Satan's tricks with Your Holy Spirit so I can recognize how harmful they are in the end. I know that the way You guide brings happiness, peace, and rest. Please give me the strength to walk it without fear. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
