Passage Context

21Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Devotional Reflection

LoveJoyPeaceGratitudeAwe

Prayers go up and blessings come down... The words to this children's song are only half right because God blesses us often even when we don't pray. But just like we love the way it smells when it rains after a long dry spell, God loves the scent of His children's happiness, especially when He is the reason they are happy.

Prayer

You are my great joy, holy and loving Father. You are still God even if everyone else fails. You are my steadfast mountain that cannot be moved or shaken, my rock and fortress, and my loving shepherd. Your grace and blessings pour down upon me and make me happy. I eagerly anticipate the day when I will be able to meet You in person and savor Your presence for all time. I will be happy in anticipation until then. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer

Holy God and kind Father, I love You the most. You are still God even when everyone else fails. You are my rock and stronghold, my gentle shepherd, and my solid mountain that can't be moved or shaken. Your grace and blessings pour down on me and make me happy. I can't wait for the day when I can see You face to face and be joyful in Your company for all time. Until then, I'll be happy because I can't wait. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
