Passage Context

22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

What an incredible collection of powerful truths and promises! We are the Father's gift to Jesus. Jesus desires that we join Him in the magnificent presence of God. Jesus wants us to see and feel His magnificence. The Father has loved Jesus since the beginning of time. Consider the following: request that God show you how profoundly these truths demonstrate our significance to Him. Imagine the day when you will be able to participate in God's splendor as one of His children! (cf. 1 John 3:1-3) Now, let us live our lives in accordance with God's perception of us.

Prayer

Almighty God and Abba Father, pardon me for the ordinary and earthbound vision that I have of myself and your other children. Through your Spirit, arouse in me a more profound understanding of Jesus' disciples and how much each of us matters to you. Please enable me to be more patient, tolerant, forgiving, and respectful of my Christian brothers' and sisters' shortcomings as I accept my own imperfections and as I aspire for the day when we are united in perfection before your holy throne of grace. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
