Devotional Reflection
How do you view God? Is He someone who wants to find fault with you? Is He an old man who doesn't live in the modern world and doesn't know what it's like? Is He too holy to deal with the problems of ordinary people, so He has left it up to us to figure everything out? No. NO. NO! God chose to come into our world and see it from the point of view of the dead. God chose to come into our world, not to punish us or it, but to save us all. Jesus is the best way to remember that God wants to save us, not put us to death. God is great, thank God! God is great because Jesus was and is God with us.
Prayer
We are grateful that You are present with those of us who are remorseful and contrite and who long for Your presence, Holy and Heavenly God. We are only mortal, but You still love us. Despite our flaws, You still redeemed us. We are imperfect, but despite this, You sent Jesus as the ideal offering to redeem us. I'm grateful. I express my sincere gratitude and praise through my Savior. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God is not about putting people down. I know Satan started the rumor a long time ago, but you shouldn't believe it. God is not a mean teacher who wants people to fail and be embarrassed. God is not a cranky judge who wants to shame, humiliate, and punish everyone who shows up in court. God is not a rumor-spreader who spreads rumors about our faults all over heaven. God, the only one who is real and alive, wants to save us. He wants to give us grace and mercy. He wants to have us as His children. He is holy, righteous, awesome, and fair at the same time. So, when God's desire for us and His call for us to be good people clash, there is only one way out: Jesus! Jesus came to make sure that God's righteous demands were met, and He did this by showing mercy. Jesus was sent by God to save sinners. Jesus came to save people of every nation, race, and culture from sin and its consequences. Jesus came to be our Savior.
Prayer
I am grateful to you, O God, for your desire to save me. Thank you for wanting me to be holy in order to save me from the trouble that sin causes in my life. I am grateful that you have called me to live righteously so that I may be a blessing to others rather than a burden to them. The good things I do are a reflection of your glory, so I am grateful that you have motivated me to emulate your actions. Therefore, I ask that you use me, Father. Though I am not perfect, I would like to be one of the means you use to share Jesus' mercy and grace with the lost. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Jesus came into the world to save it. Jesus came to save you. I was saved by Jesus. Why? Because of the love of the Father!
Prayer
Thank you for your love, Holy and Righteous Father. I know I didn't do anything to deserve it or earn it, but thank you. Until I see you face-to-face and can thank and praise you in person, please know that I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and that your plan, your Son, and your salvation bring me deep and lasting joy. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God is not a big Scrooge in the sky who looks down on His flawed children and waits to judge them when they do something wrong. Instead, He saw how broken, flawed, and messed up we were and came into our world to save it... to save us. God sent Jesus so that we could have life and be saved.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, save me from the sin that messes up my heart and my actions. Through Your Holy Spirit, make my heart clean and give me a new spirit. Thank You for being kind and forgiving. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
What is your opinion on God? Is He looking for a method to convict you? Is He an out-of-touch elderly man who has no idea what life is like in the current world? Is He too holy to be bothered with the worries of lowly humans, leaving us to figure things out for ourselves? No. NO. NO! God opted to inhabit our planet and live it from the perspective of mortality. God decided to come to our world to redeem it and each of us, not to condemn us or it. Jesus is a powerful reminder that God desires to redeem us rather than condemn us. Thank you, God! Thank God for Jesus, who was and continues to be God with us.
Prayer
Holy and heavenly God, thank you for living with those of us who are sorry for what we have done and want to be with you. You know that we are just human, but you still love us. You know we have flaws, but you saved us anyway. You know that we are not perfect, so you sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice to save us. Many thanks. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
