Devotional Reflection

Worship that is true is a gift. Since God is Spirit and holy, we can't fully get close to Him without the help of His Holy Spirit. As Christians who were baptized into Christ and born of God, we now have His Spirit and can talk to Him and worship Him spirit to Spirit.

Prayer

I come to you as your child, Abba Father, through the gift of your Spirit. I'm so grateful that you gave me your Spirit so that I can approach you with assurance and know that you are aware of my deepest worries. Accept the adoration of my heart, my words, and my deeds. I hope what I do today honors you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Without the Spirit, we are not God's children. Without the Holy Spirit, Jesus' sacrifice would not be able to completely alter and purify us. We cannot worship God in the manner He desires unless we have the Spirit, since God is Spirit. Our worship must be "Spirit to spirit," meaning that it must delight God and be in accordance with His desire.

Prayer

O Holy and All-Powerful God, I wish to adore You. I wish to thank You "Spirit to Spirit" for everything. I want to worship You the way You want to be worshiped because I respect You. With my whole life and all of my praise, I wish to honor You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

God seeks true worshipers. He looks for people who want to praise Him in an honest, heart-to-heart way. He gives us His Spirit to help us worship in our search (Philippians 3:3; Jude 20; Romans 8:26-27). Most of all, He wants us to worship Him in a way that honors Him and comes from the heart.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Holy Spirit, who is praying for us right now to make this prayer perfect. My heart races when I think about the fact that you not only know me but also want me to be with you. Please accept my weak words and hear the emotion in my heart as I say, "Thank you!" for everything you've done for me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer

Abba Father, I am your child because you gave me your Spirit. Thank you so much for giving me your Spirit so I can come to you with confidence and know you hear what's on my heart. Please watch over what's in my heart, what I say, and what I do. May what I do today bring glory to you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
