Passage Context

27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

Do you think Jesus is real? Do you really think that? Shortly after Max Lucado got back from his mission work in Rio, Brazil, he told a group of his closest friends that his theology was pretty simple. He didn't understand a lot of the big, hard theological issues that cause people to disagree. But Max said he came to the firm and deep belief that God loves us and showed that love by really sending Jesus to live among us, die for us, and be raised from the dead so that we could be raised from death, too. This is God's work. It is both incredibly simple and incredibly powerful.

Prayer

Holy God, I do believe that Jesus was born, lived, died, and rose again. Please help me show and share that message with those around me who are looking to find hope and help. Give me the courage and discernment, Holy Spirit, to share Jesus with those around me who are searching. Open my eyes to them. Father, please support me as I recommit myself to Your work today. I want so much to be a part of it. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

How do you make money?" It is a question that people from many different cultures often ask. We learn a lot about each other from the work we do. But God's grace is what makes us who we are. So, the work God wants us to do, or the way He wants us to "make a living," is to put all of our trust in Jesus. This is the starting point for all of our lives!

Prayer

I believe in You, Lord God Almighty, the ruler of heaven and earth. Help me believe. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Holy God, I do believe that Jesus came to earth, died, and rose from the dead. Please help me show and tell those around me who are looking for hope and help about this message. Holy Spirit, help me see the people around me who are looking for answers, and give me the courage and sensitivity to tell them about Jesus. Father, I really want to be a part of Your work. Please help me today as I recommit myself to it. I pray in the name of Jesus, who saved me. Amen.
