Devotional Reflection
When Jesus asked His disciples if they were going to leave Him like everyone else, Peter's answer was powerful and amazing. He was the only one who knew where truth came from! Jesus' words had changed reality and torn down walls that kept God's love and truth from getting through. He had heard a voice on the mountain say, "This is my Son, whom I love; listen to Him!" In fact, he knew that no one else had the words of eternal life. Who do you listen to?
Prayer
Thank you, Almighty God, for making Jesus so approachable for me. Jesus enlightens me to the depth of Your love. Jesus makes it easier for me to comprehend Your desire to redeem and claim me as Your own. Jesus should always be my go-to source for truth, grace, renewal, and hope. Other than my crucified Savior, Jesus, there is no one else I would rather have as my Lord. Father, today gently remind me of the places in my life where I haven't yet accepted Your Son's authority as Lord. In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
